ADMISSION IN TO SINGAPORE POLYTECHNIC

ADMISSION IN TO SINGAPORE POLYTECHNIC

Each year, the Singapore Polytechnic enrols around 4,500 school leavers into its full-time Diploma courses. In addition, a wide range of part-time programmes are available for the working population.
Full-time enrolment is open to 'O' and 'A' Level school leavers and ITE graduates. However, the majority of the Polytechnic's 14,000 full-time students are 'O' Level holders who follow a three-year Diploma programme.

The Polytechnic also has a sizeable part-time student body of about 2,600, the majority of who attend five-year, evenings-only courses leading to Diploma awards. Most of these students hold positions in industry and seek our diplomas as a means of advancement in their careers.
There is keen competition for places in the Polytechnic, so only the best students are selected.

JOINT ADMISSION EXCERSISE

The Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) coordinated by the Ministry of Education (MOE) is for GCE 'O' Level holders. Registration for courses opens at 3.00pm on the day of the release of the 'O' Level results and lasts for 6 calendar days. The JAE booklet (application procedures, information on entry requirements, etc.) will be made available to you when you collect your 'O' Level results.

During the JAE, our counsellors will be at our JAE Centre to answer your questions and advise you on tertiary opportunities at SP. We also make available Internet access for you to make your on-line application after you have made your decision.
Coming to SP is a breeze, just hop on board the train and alight at the Dover MRT station. Board the free shuttle service to the JAE Centre (available during the JAE registration period).

Very informative and nearly comprehensive on education in Singapore!! I wanted to clear one point: are the degrees from singapore universities, particularly Nanyang Technological University, recognized in major countries of the world? My son is seeking admission for research in electronics in NTU. He wants to know if there is any hitch in landing a job in India, for example, after he completes his studies. Could you please answer this?
